I dont choose the ads, google does.

The only ads I ever see are for boring things I've recently googled for, like tires for the car or fencing wire

I get boring ads too, mainly sporting goods, electronic bits, bbq stuff, but today was a real estate ad, which had a pic of a amazingly cheap house that looked OK.
WTF? This shouldn't be that cheap, then I saw the address........ America!

Holy crap, why is property so cheap there compared to here?

House ad

I should move there, then I could have a nice semi auto again too!

Some of those really low cost houses are located in what have now become ghost towns.

Tiny little pockets of former habitation, maybe now totally cut off by a freeway, with no local business, shops, schools, or jobs.

There are places like that in Australia, that are out in the middle of nowhere, maybe located next to a sawmill, or a mine, that closed down fifty years ago. Everyone left, but the houses still remain.

Same here.

I have blown up too many CMOS chips, and once did an internet search for some anti static footwear.

For months afterwards, Google bombarded me with women's fashion, makeup, underwear, and ads for handbags.

Quite annoying.

I once searched for " Hardwood Flooring restoration" for some renos we were doing.

Must be some nick name for something seedy.
I got rained on with ads for porn / dating sites and Pills and appliances to help with male Dysfunction for ages.

That girl looks like she just missed the bus and has to wait an hour for another one.
Doesn't seem to be too thrilled about that brand of clothes too much.  Not a very good advertising pic and certainly not one I'd even be showing the client if I shot it.

Bit of positive expression and a smile would have gone a long way rather than looking like she does not want to be there.

Never ceases to amaze me the sort of pics they run in ads though.

Welllllll.... You might have a point there!

With what some of them get paid, they should have a smile that Runs all the way round and meets in the back of their heads.

I used to get a lot of work for small companies doing shoots because I used to work with a group of girls that mainly had regular jobs but did modelling on the side.
Agency Models wouldn't get out of bed in the afternoon for less than $1000 and then there were all sorts of agency fees and limited use contracts and general BS that ended up costing the client an unviable amount.  These girls I knew might have been getting $15 an hour in their regular jobs and I could get them $250 for a half days work, they were plenty happy and so were the clients. Sign an limited release, get their money, all good.

I was making plenty doing these little jobs most other Commercial shooters wouldn't bother with but they were a lot less hassle, a lot less time involved in planning and production and no shortage of work.

Did a lot of fashion for small and not so small clothes manufacturers ( yeah, we still made stuff here then)importers who had their designs made OS, Shooting a calendar for the local panel beater who wanted a girl with some hotrod or a catalogue or parts for a local engineering company, Used to shoot heaps for wedding Dress designers, head shots for real estate agents, ads for paving and kitchen companies, Little companies making furniture and bedspreads etc. One company with the bedspreads and pillow cases etc got his products in Big W and wanted the same girl lying on the bed or holding something in every damn shot. We thought it was him that had a fetish for her but turned out it was his wife that was the one insisting!

I did shoot a fair few annual reports for Councils and some National/international Companies but had a lot more freedom with those. Usually had a list of things they wanted but how I got them was up to me and didn't need to go into hours long meetings about what Damn phone a guy should be holding!

I worked a lot with 6-7 Girls and we had it down so damn Pat in the end, many times I would forget to tell them what the hell we were shooting till we got there. Never mattered, we all had a connection and knew what to do and that was it. We used to have a lot of fun. So many times the client would give a Brief and we would be thinking " What the hell??"  I would tell the client I would do it their wan and then I'd do it my want and if they didn't like what I did I wouldn't charge them for the cost. I remember 1 single shoot where they wanted their idea out of I don't know how many we did. These people were good at what they did but had no idea about advertising and photography nor what we could do.

Everything they say about models ( Professional anyway) being Dumb and airheads is 110% True! You could ring and confirm them 10 Hours before, as would the Client, and then in the morning they wouldn't show and you would ring them and they would tell you they forgot! The girls I worked with never let me down because we had trust and work ethic unlike young people today.

I used to shoot a lot for a Bikini company and we gave up booking any models bar the girls I knew or we had used before. For Variety, We'd turn up at the beach we were going to use, the owner of the company and I would walk along, check out the girls there, she would approach them, offer them free swimwear ( couldn't sell or use it again due to health regs anyway) and we would shoot half of what we had to do with randoms that we never had never met before and never had a single problem with a one of them. Even a female would probably get arrested for approaching women on a beach now! We shot with most of the girls we found on other shoots later but tried to use a variety of people overall.  That company is quite big now although the owner had a freak out and sold it years ago.

Tell you what though, If I couldn't have got a better expression than the girl in the pic above has, even if they had barbed wire for G string, we would have all given up!

This is an old pic of one of the girls I used to work with a lot. Very sweet girl and her parents and my wife and I became very good friends.

Clients loved the pic, I hated it but they were paying and it's a nice pic of her.

@ Davo99 - I think that expression is meant to be sultry in that she does not really need to smile.  'Aggressively sexy' so to speak.  Still, I agree with you - a smile would not go astray.  Your photo you posted was lovely.

@ M Del - Yeah, kinda hard not to click on some of those pictures in those ads!
