Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I think we all like a good ghost story, but the whole EVP thing, to me, is utter bollocks.

They try to claim that EVP is proof of ghosts and spirits.
Any voice-recorder has a standard bandwidth in terms of audio frequency response, but they claim that these EVP tapes, reveal the existence of ghosts.

They say that this is cos the living Humans, can't hear the things that are subsequently caught on tape......even though tape can only EVER reproduce what the Human ear is capable of hearing....

THEN they go on to HOLD THE RECORDER in their hands, and THEN claim that all the noise NOT heard.....is evidence of ghosts, when it is simply noise of them handling the recorder, while it is recording.

As I said - I love a good ghost story, as I don't believe in ghosts, but I love the stories.  But the EVP "Proof" is SUCH bovine excrement....I can't get past it.

Rant, rant, rant.....

I vaguely remember not long after I was married over 50 years ago, my wife encouraged me to set up a tape recorder to catch any extraineous stuff while we were out one evening having heard about this sort of stuff.

All we got was traffic noise & probably us moving about. No spooky stuff at all.

Not sure what recorder it was but it was probably an Akai X-IV, 5" reel to reel thing which was fairly old then at the time. (I still have it).
