I stumbled across this on Youtube. Its a steam powered plane, called the Besler Steam Plane. Uses a flash boiler, as expected, and a 2 cylinder steam engine, with a high and low pressure cycle. I like the way it can stop and reverse the motor to go back wards while taxing.

It reminds me of the 1967 Ford converted to steam by Ted Prichard, back in the 70's. I found a youtube video about that too.

There are some good youtube videos about steam driven vehicles. They seam to have a lot of torque.
