Hi Gizmo, Reference <https://www.thebackshed.com/forum/ViewTopic.php?TID=11546&P=9> Uploaded a reply this morning. Duly received email with the correct text I had uploaded. The forum added another page (page9). However my reply is not showing up on page9. Instead an empty reply field as in the image below shows up. FYI pls. |

Yes, this sometimes happens when your post reaches the page limit. Your post isn't lost, it is on the end of the preceding page. |

Unfortunately the boxing kangaroo is copyrighted. I added that "Made in Australia" to the forum after watching a video from a Canadian electronics youtuber. With the Trump tariffs and stab in the back to its norther neighbour and friend, the youtuber noticed a real growth in Canadian pride, with lots of Made in Canada symbols and flags popping up all over the place. Australia is in the same boat, hit with a tariff despite a decades long free trade agreement and facilities made available to the USA defense force. So I decided to let people know where this forum is created, hosted, etc. That "Made in Australia" graphic is my own work, feel free to use it if you want. Its larger than it appears, and a transparent PNG so should look good on most backgrounds. Just right click, "Save image as.." Hi Glenn Good to see the logo. Hope it doesn't attract a 100% tariff for our USA members ![]() A few small points. With my Samsung tablets & Oppo (Android) phone, I used to be able to go straight into the forum with auto login or whatever. Lately I have to press the Login/Join tab/button to get in. Fortunately my user name & password are remembered. Not a real problem with the tablets in landscape mode as the login tab/button appears on the screen & the login details are remembered, but with the phone in portrait mode I have to go back a few steps to get to the login button but in the meantime if I'm not quick enough, I get an advert coming up that covers most of the screen & I have to deal with that as well. Just a bit annoying but I get there in the end. As well, the portable devices don't seem to remember or know what posts I have read in the previous week or two, but it does know that I have read them because everything is cleared when I jump into the site with a PC/laptop. This is a bit more annoying than having to log in. I also noticed using a tablet this morning that I was not listed as a member on line. Now I'm not sure if these are device problems caused by recent upgrades etc, or a site problem. I can live with them either way. Hope this makes some sense. Thanks for the site & your efforts (& minimal advertising when logged in). Brian ChopperP |

Hi Brian I'll do some testing. I suspect its a tablet OS update issue, I see them in my commercial software a fair bit, one day its working fine, the next day its not, and nothing was changed in the code. Usually a small change to the code fixes the issue. Thanks for the heads up. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Hi Glenn I haven't been able to find a forum search option. Is it just me, or maybe because I'm using my mobile? I'd really like to be able to find posts specific to my interest, e.g. DIY inverter designs and builds. Other than that, I love the site and the respectful way members share their experiences and practical information. Cheers Mike |

Sometimes your browser's search bar can offer more selective filtering. enter:- site: thebackshed.com "Your search terms" |

It does not remember me as such so I have to go search for the small Login/join button in the meantime trying to kill the $%^&% adverts which come up blocking everything. A 1-2 minute pause before the adverts start woud be helpful giving me time to find the login button. My Samsung tablets require logins as well but having much larger screens, the login button is easily found. Login details are remembered which is good. PC's are OK. Otherwise, the Forum is greatly appreciated. Brian ChopperP |

Hi Brian The delay before showing ads is a good idea, but unfortunately thats out of my control. The Adsense Ads are just placeholders I put on the page, after that I have no control on when or what they show, other than restricting certain advert types ( like gambling, religion, etc ). Would putting an additional log in button at the bottom of the page work? Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Hi Glenn Thanks for the reply. I now see that there is no easy solution to accommadate the many screen sizes & orientations etc. Having another good look at my mobile phone situation (& being a bit calmer), I found I do have time to hit the Menu button before the adverts appear which brings up the login menu & I can go from there. If an ad does appear, I can scroll the screen until the Menu button reappears. I don't use the phone that much to access TBS so I can live with what's there. I don't think adding another button at the bottom would be of any benefit. (long way to scroll) Thanks again. Brian ChopperP |
