brands of electric vehicle engines
are curtis the best deal
how do u find out what u need
I know a guy replaced a holden combo van engine to a 9 inch because he wanted more power


I put a load on my combo van ( overloaded probably)

A C PROPULSION HAVE THE BEST EV MOTOR i THINK
IT HAS AN E BOX CONTROLLER AND CHARGES IN 2 HOURS FROM ORDINARY POWER POINT
I THINK IT IS PRICED AT $25 K
AND MAY TOO EXPENSIVE

i LISTENED TO ONE OF THE AUSTRALIAN ELECTRICAL VEHICLE ASSOCIATION MEETINGS ON UTUBE
AND THIS WAS VERY DISSAPPOINTING
NO TECHNOLOGY WAS DISCUSSED

Hello Tomqu7, have you tried going to the ATA ?? we have a very active EV branch in Geelong. we all meet on the first Friday of the month

I think I may have asked the same question elsewhere but it hasn't drawn any response as yet, so maybe better luck here. AC motors are as common as dirt in industrial areas & I'm certain I've seen a write-up where one was used in an EV conversion. As I recall, the motor in question was purchased for chickenfeed from a junkyard & proved to be perfect for the conversion, in fact the torque was such that no transmission was needed. The $25,000 cost would obviously cause most people to select a DC motor, but if its relatively straightforward to use a used industrial AC motor, the costs would almost certainly favour that.
