Does anyone have a current status on the MM Extreme PCB that I read some of the very talented people were working on, seems to have gone quiet in that area?

I am just about to place an order to Microchip for some parts to build a few each of MM 28 pin (for MM Backpack v2), MM+ 64 pin (for MM+ Backpack) and MM+ 100 pin (Explore 100) units and was thinking about order 1 or 2 of each of the MMX 100 & 144 pin chips.

I am using Silicon Chip PCB's for the first 3 units to make up several of their recent projects based around the MM (long time follower of MM but late starter on putting together MM units).

If there are some PCB's around to purchase I would like to make at least one each of MMX 64 pin and MMX 100 pin units for boards preferably with LCD connector to make connection of display easy.

If they are not close I will wait a little before ordering the chips as i am sure I will want to make some more units for my own projects.

@Azure,

Welcome to the Backshed forum.

WhiteWizard in the UK is your man for the Extreme boards - I am sure he will respond shortly.

You can also get your own boards done as matherp has published all his designs including the Gerbers - see here

There a few shedders who have built Peter's MZ (MM Extreme) systems so don't hesitate to ask if you need assistance.

Cheers,
panky

WW PM'd me with details to purchase some PCB's, thanks WW. can't wait to build and play with the MM eXtremes after recently building a MM+ 64 Backpack. I'm hooked.

So if you want MM eXtreme boards or assembled units, I would suggest you PM him if they are not listed on his website.

Does anyone have a parts list for the MM eXtreme 100 type 1 (Black PCB) and MM eXtreme 144 boards by MatherP that WW produces?

I found a parts list for the MM eXtreme 64 for not for the others.

Thanks to GeoffG and MatherP for the great work you guys are doing.Edited by Azure 2017-11-14

@Azure,

I have emailed you too, but do check the Schematics on this thread

I will email you the Farnell part number for the Crystal module.

Received my shiny MM Extreme 64, 100 and 144 PCB's.

Not all the SMD parts I ordered have arrived yet so will have to try and wait patiently before I start assembling them.

Many thanks to WhiteWizzard for taking such nice care of me and prompt shipping.

I will try and make notes of any specific component part numbers as I put them together in case anyone else wants them in the future.

@ Azure
WW uses Farnell, Element 14 here but I have found in Australia RS components are by far the best. They will deliver even one item all free of charge and they come by courier. I am 2,500 Km from their warehouse in Sydney and have received delivery in 2 days. Silicon Chip are mega expensive.

@ Palcal
Thanks for the info. Part of my work still involves repairing faulty equipment so I still regularly source parts from OS manufacturers and local suppliers like Farnell (Element14) and local component distributors where practical.

I service/repair equipment specialising in Lighting/Gripping equipment in Film Production.

Previously over my years of different roles I did hardware and software design (at all levels) for major brand names. I built my first computer from components in the mid seventies (giving away my age).

Just starting to play with MM in various flavours as I have been reading about them for years and wanted to give them a play. The LCD and MMBasic is just a winning combination for elegant yes mostly straight foward solutions.

Looking forward to fun times ahead with the MM family and the keen members of TBS.

I now have multiple of each (SC) MM v2 LCD Backpacks, MM+ 64 LCD Backpacks, Explorer 100's and one each of MM 64, 100 and 144 Extremes from Peter Mather designs sourced via WhiteWizard at micromite.org to put together.

Just waiting on quite a few parts to come in from OS and then I can start work on them.

In the meantime amongst what I normally do I have added lots of MM and MMBasic reading (like I tend to do) and playing the MM+ LCD Backpack I have up and running.
