Hi All,

Don sent me a list of Electronic and Technical Magazine archives of many MANY magazines from all over the world..

Many of our old favourites are there.. even one with an article from Me (Hint 1989 ETI Australia... you work out which month)

I was a bit loathe to post this as I initially thought it was not legit but on reading the FAQ he claims he has the owners permissions but distributes in a `non printable’ format..

So here is the link

Magazine Archives

Mick

Very interesting.

of course I had to have a go. Opened one of the Mags., saved it, and it prints OK.

@Paul,

I haven’t tried to print but reading the FAQ he states that you can print pages if viewing on line which fits a “fair use” policy but if you download the mag you can’t print..

I dunno... but it’s a fantastic resource and possibly a great source of project# that could be done better with a modern micro.

Regards,

Mick

3D monster maze! first game I ever typed into my zx81... "Run! rex has seen you!"... hmmm... I always thought it was from Quicksilver

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_Monster_Maze

so primitive by the standards of just a few years later but it had the Adrenalin rush of a good computer game

EDIT... Hmmm+1... I thought I typed this in a REM statement but I must have a broken memory.

Wow!! I found a proof of performance I authored for WDLA, Walton, NY in 1958! The world wide web never looses anything!

I wonder if I might find a picture of my first girl friend in there somewhere?

I ignored your advise and went digging. I found her obituary back four years ago.

One thing is for certain that if you sat down with your current Missus and said “hey lets search for my old Girlfriend” I am 100% certain you will find a compromising photo of you two and your life expectancy might suffer significantly.

So True..

But (to stay on Topic) seriously that `radio history’ site is a tremendous resource of information..

If only I had 30 hrs a day and 10 days a week ...

Thanks Mick, this is a real gold mine! A few months back when sorting through a long forgotten junk box I found 2 projects from UK mag Practicle Wireless that I built back in the 1970's but unfortunately until now I have had no supporting information. Have now found project data for both. One was an rf oscillator design and the other a power supply, intersting, but I don't think I'll be putting them to use anytime soon. I now don't feel quite so bad about minimising my magazine collection when shifting house many years ago.

You can download and print from american radio history.
I have almost a mirror of that site and everything prints fine.
When I say a mirror, I have all the mags dealing with valves

Hi Joe, All,

I made that statement based on these statements in their FAQ.

Kind Regards,

Mick

there is a ST related law in that list:

Scott's Law: Always multiply your estimates by four - Thus when work is completed under time and under budget you establish and maintain your reputation as a miracle worker.

and there's this to unlock a PDF... it'll print then. Hmmm... that site is a redirect from http://www.pdfunlock.com/ which is where I used to go - looks to do the same thing as the original but I can't vouch for it (never used it) - heads upEdited by CaptainBoing 2018-02-03
