I ran across an old project while cleaning up my shop. It was the basic chip interfaced to a propeller chip to handle the video and sound chores. It still works ok , but has the old 4.5ver software on the mm basic chip. Will the newer versions still talk to this project? If so , I will reprogram the chip for all the new features and use this thing again. |

Probably your chip is a PIC32MX150F128. Later versions of MMBasic (V5 and up) require a member of the MX170 or MX470 family of chips. So, no, you cannot load the latest on that. Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |

The MicroMite Companion that you found is compatible with both the MX150 and MX170. Have a look at which PIC chip you have, and IF it is the MX170 then you can load the latest MMBASIC. However, if it is the MX150 then I recommend grabbing a MX170 and swapping it over. You will need to load MMBASIC onto the chip - best get a MicroBridge IF you do not have a PicKit3. |
