===============================
Dontronics Final Weeks

We have just reduced prices on what remaining stock we have left at Dontronics, to a level that should make it move out the door. If it doesn't I'll probably half the prices again one more time before I throw it all out. All prices are way cheaper than wholesale.

A short list of remaining hardware items:
---------------
These must be cleared by the 30th of June, and we are open to offers on bulk purchases. Many of these smaller items haven't been counted yet, but if you want the lot of any product (or everything), we can easily count them for you, so that we can negotiate a price.

See: https://www.shop-dontronics.com/Dontronics-Box-of-Goodies
for a full rundown on what is left in stock.

All of the minor items on this Stock Clearance list have had the prices reduced. These prices now range from 5 cents to $2

USB cables 50 Cents each ONO in bulk. Suit small business or eBay seller.
35 x USB A Male to B Male Cables. (AM to BM)
64 x USB A Male to A Female Extension Cable. (AM to AF)
128 x USB A Male tinB mini 5P Male Cable. (USB AM to Mini-5P)

16 x PoUSB12 $2 each ONO in bulk.
The PoUSB12 is a USB 2.0 (12Mbs maximum speed) to RS-232 bridge converter which is simple, cost effective, very small and easy to use. It uses a USB-B type connector to connect to your PC and is based on the CP2102 Bridge from Silicon Labs. The PoUSB12 provides the user with multi baud rate serial data and access to USB control signals in a convenient 8 pin 2,54 mm (0.1") pitch package.

Heaps of FTDI USB to TTL cables $6 each, less for bulk.

Mick's Mites:
------------
All MGB products are manufactured by Mick Gulovsen, and I have been doing just the sales machinery for him, as it is basically a hobby. Mick will handle this directly via email in the future. Mick will take over all sales on the 25th of June 2018

CANUSB and CAN232 modules will be sent to the Japanese dealer early June.

TCTECH modules will be returned to the manufacturer in QLD Australia, some time in June.

======================================================

Easysync and FTDI Cables.
Glyn Australia supplies precisely the same Easysync USB to RS-232 cables that I had, but in a stripped down what they call OEM version. Basically, it is supplied in a plastic bag, without the fancy packaging. It is the same unit apart from that. Built by the same manufacturer. However it is a hell of a lot cheaper.

Cheers Don...

Thanks very much for your order and kind words Vito,

Penny will count the items to make sure you get the correct value, so it may take a little longer to get the order out. No more than a day or two anyway.

Cheers Don...

Good spotting. The message is post dated so the online shop actually closed on 21st June 2018.

Just posted this message to Glenn in the supplier's forum:

Hi Glenn,

Could you please drop Dontronics off this list as we sadly shut the site down today.

Strangely, the URL we had listed here was a temporary URL used when I was shifting servers, and I let the domain name expire about 4 to 6 weeks ago. As it turned out, an Indonesian Casino grabbed the name, and called it "Dontronic" on the page and not "Dontronics", so that may confuse a few readers.

My other domains, I have re-directed to dontronics.com with a message of explanation about the shutdown.

Thank you very much for your support over the years. It was very much appreciated.

Cheers Don...

I would also like to thank all members of this forum also. I had planned the shutdown for possibly two years, so moving the last of the stock wasn't too bad. Had the help of a few business friends and associates, and was able to send everything else onto other dealers.

Bigmik will now be handling all of his items directly. Just email him for exceptonal service.

Cheers Don...

Thanks for your support over the years Don,

You got me the job I have now 33 years ago.. I know I will find it strange living in a (web) world with no DONTRONICS. Unless I want to start gambling on Indonesian casinos

Mick

PS ... it will be my shout next Tuesday for lunch..

Must be coming up 40 years when I first met you at a TRS-80 User Group Meeting Mick. You were the guy with the logic probe poking around in an expansion interface that appeared to know what you were doing. As I found out, you didn't really know what you were doing, but you were one of the few in the room that was prepared to have a go with this new technology.

You shout! You wouldn't shout if a shark bit you! :-)

See you on Tuesday.

Cheers Don...

Hi JR (AKA YJ)

It was a two-way street, you supported me too. Best thing is we had a lot of fun doing business together and enjoyed what we were doing. I remember chucking in a perfectly good job at the age of 56 to chase a dream. I am so glad I chased that dream. Had a lot of great years, but I really found it difficult to pull the plug on the Dontronics website yesterday. Nothing is forever.

I think it was late 1980 or early 1981 (jeez was anyone alive that long ago??) Yes I remember that night well..

My first LNW Expansion board I built to make a few shekels from and I think it was either the monitor or Cassete DIN connector wouldn’t fit in the standard DIN socket as it had a plastic `shroud’ I tried to cut it off with a Stanley knife and nearly took off my finger..

If I remember there was some change I made to the pull-up resistors as well as there was some incompatibility there with the stock values..

I was probably 20 or 21 at the time and then I met a guru by ther name of YODA (err Don) and started learning at a great rate of knots.I have forgotten almost everything you taught me ... except that beer is best drunk COLD and cigarette smoke stinks..

As to shouting if a shark bit me... I suppose it would depend on where he bit me.

Enjoy retirement Donny..

Thanks very much Mick and Grogs.

Currently, I am working flat out on both my daughter's websites, but with a little luck, I may drift back to what really is my passion. Rest assured I am keeping busy, and not letting the brain cells die.

Both diet and exercise are extremely important to me, and with the travels we have planned, I had better attempt to keep my lifestyle on an even balance.

Cheers Don...

Thanks for the kind words Curtis.
Day 2? In your words "Take over the world"

Seriously, I have so much lined up to do, and lots of travel is a big part of that.

Cheers Don...
