For those looking to add video to there small micro projects , check out the data
sheet on this new ic. Part # VS23S010D-L . Has video memory for frame buffer and can run SPI or bus. It has my gears turning....

I see this chip generates composite video. That might be a bit fuzzy for today's HD market. I am having a read of the PDF for this chip now though.

You might also be interested in the TellyMate composite video generating chip. Ideal for simple output, and I have used this device on a couple of projects and it works a treat. B/W only though.
Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!

I have built a few of those a few years back. Works good for simple b/w video.
Having a higher resolution and color with a frame buffer makes a bit more options
open. Do a search for stm32 basicengine for an example of this chip in use.
