Don't entirely agree on some sentiments of the article but it is worth a read

Nice, and good form factor, but pricey at $42 U.S. I like the ESP8266 on board for wifi. Only 512k flash, according to the article, so perhaps latest MMBasic would not shoehorn in. (Although I think the PIC32MX470F512L-120 is the same as the Explore-100.)
