Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hey all.

As you might know, I've been plugging away at writing a version of Missile Command for the Colour Maximite, and this is the first playable result:

Missile Command

It still has a long way to go, in things like:

* The text. I'm trying to find something Atari 2600 or similar font, and the one I created doesn't quite work.

* Erasing lines. Something doesn't quite work there.

* Having waves, counting up remaining cities, missiles, etc.

* Sound effects. I have done an intro screen and intro music, and have some MODs ready for ingame, but need to implement them.

* Cleaning up the code

* and a thousand other things I haven't thought of here.

These things are relatively minor compared to what I have done to get this far, and I'm really very pleased with what I have achieved given my lack of doing much programming in the last 15 or so years.

I have to say a million thanks to Geoff for all the work he put into creating the Maximite in the first place. Most of the problems I had were of my own doing, and not because of any limitations present in the Maximite. It really is a powerful little beast, and it has been a joy going through the process of doing this and watching the Maximite flex its muscles.

Also, many thanks to those on this forum for pointing me in the right direction for problems I had, and showing me things I still need to do (in terms of updating MMBasic, etc)

Many, many thanks.

Joseph
