Here's a handy little utility that's recently been put up: Serial Port Monitor It could save a bit of the annoyance factor each time you plug in a USB connector to a Windows system if you don't already know the COM port you're dealing with. The COM number just pops up on the notification bar without you having to dig down into Device Manager and you can also set up various programs to use it with, e.g.Putty, TeraTerm etc. accessed via a single right click. Nice one Greg I have a short cut to device manager on my desktop so i can see what com port the USB jobby has come up as (this time). I think this will be more convenient. I will give it a drive and see. cheers h |
