Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hello all.

I'm amazed at how powerful Mint is, and it is totally free.
I have more running in 4GB on Linux, then I could EVER hope to run in a native Windoze system. As previously mentioned, I have......sorry....HAD a Windoze 10 install with 16GB of RAM, and it would use about 9-10GB of that with just the system and Opera - basically what I have running now.

A local song came to mind:

Quote  I don't know what you want from me
Or what you think a love ought to be
I want something that's open and strong...

...

To share but not to chain
That's freedom[/Quote]

John Farnham - That's Freedom.

One of my favourite songs growing up.

SONG

Oh, and when I plugged in my Brother printer, I was NOT expecting Linux Mint to say 'I know what this thing is - installing....DONE.' I was even able to send test prints to both the local AND the network printer. Something I could never do in Windoze without first installing the printer software package.

More beer...

Sorry everyone, but this is a gigantic move for me, and MORE then just a little eye-opening at the things that Linux can run....all for free.
