I have many devices, Windoze and Android and sometimes I just wanna make a note, share a link and have it instantly on all devices Sure, I have DropBox, Google Drive, etc. but this is no muss, no fuss. It's also open-source so pretty certain that there is no funny business happening. |

I write notes on a bit of paper and stick it in my wallet. Problem solved. |

I donīt have a wallet, no kidding, my wife is carrying all our cash actually everything excepting my keys. And no so called "smart phone", so no heavy brick at all! My small cell phone can still and only ... phone. I guess most people around including myself are just old geezers (we are just as old as we feel ) still being able to do some handwriting ... though actually even for myself keyboard typing just mostly took over ... but actually I am going to change this back, some fine motor training for my old fingers. Many Apps do really seem to be useful, but the more we all are getting or already got lazy the more we lose even cognitive practice. This just started in the 70īs-80īs with pocket calculators ... ... just generally beside all big data abuse! But on the other hand all young ones are not only used to all this stuff, economy forces everyone to make up with these arti- and superficial standards ... and that is a pity. But donīt get me wrong, I am not talking this down, it is just a general development ... some arrested development. The "digital revolution" is not done wisely. ![]() Andre ... such a GURU?![]()

You are right - my handwriting is so bad I generally print, not write. All because of the "had to do everything with a keyboard" mentality with the wonderful new 8-bit "computers" from the 70's. Mind you, I don't touch type either B |

I ain't exactly no spring chicken myself; 60yo come January. But I love these devices because I have access to any information at any time. I don't do social media at all and I have never played a video game. Calculators didn't make me lazy at all. If you see me stabbing away at my smartphone, chances are that I'm challenging myself with mental binary or hex calcs. Now television? Talk about the opiate of the masses....Keep them dumb with reality TV, soaps and grown men chasing a bag of wind around a field. Now that's moronic. A fellow member of the Parallax forum just summed it up: |

The Internet makes collaboration very constructive ... in any good or even bad way. No doubt about that! I am never talking about anyone of us around here, it is always the masses of "Consumers", being passive and never constructive. Todayīs opiate of the masses is Whatīs App and all these crappy big data mines harming all of us even not using this trash ourselves. I like this forum (as an example) here for getting new constructive ideas ... but this kind of communication sadly is outrun by all that crap of the masses ... lacking any "wisdom of the crowd". But actually I think for judging any communication medium or technical tool we have to see it individually but generally its usage must be well thought and without any abusing parasite behind it. So "the crowd" always depends on all individuals within and they make the standards all together, the rest, sadly always being the majority, are a dumb herd of stupid sheep. We all should take our chances but look further than just consuming them blindfold. But this is only my individual and general opinion! ![]() Andre ... such a GURU?![]()
