Just got word my back-ordered CMM2 is in the mail. I've got so many games I want to write for this little gem, starting with Gomoku (5-in-a-row), Reversi, and a clone of the old Gremlin Depthcharge arcade game. I just need to dust off my BASIC skills since I haven't used it for many decades! My background: started out as business applications programmer in 1963, switched over to games programming in the 1970s at Gremlin/Sega, and later Atari and Sierra Online (Dynamix). Computer games have always been my first love, and as a retired old codger I plan to spend some quality time with my new CMM2 reliving my wasted youth. BTW: The 8-bit guy gets the credit for bringing me here. |

Welcome to the club! Got mine a little over a week ago and have been playing with it nearly every day when I have a few hours... Still amazed how easy it is to do graphics and sound stuff compared to the old 80's machines! The performance isn't limitless but it's so much better than what we had back then that it's nearly the sky is the limit! Can't wait for more of you all to get your machines and we start cranking out some cool stuff! |

Hey all, I am also new, and brought here by the 8-bit guy & CTrix. Super keen to get my little unit (kit from Silicon Chip) and get into some programming. I have always been a fan of retro 8 bit computing, though never quite liked the price tags associated with original C64's etc which has stopped me from making the jump to something hardware based. After seeing this unit it instantly resonated with me due to the feature set, ease of construction, usage and price point. When I finally get my hands on it I will basically (excuse the pun) be starting from absolute scratch with MMBasic, but learning is half the fun when you can see results instantly. Prior background, I'm predominantly a data analyst but have dabbled in hobbyist stuff with C & ASM, though the last time I used basic would of been around ~20 years ago. Looking forward to being part of this growing community :) |

I am sure I speak for all of us who developed the CMM2 when I say - thanks. ![]() The demand for this thing was somewhat underestimated, and all three of us suppliers(Rictech{me}, Rob {CircuitGizmos}, and Phil {micromite.org}) have been flat-out trying to fill orders. I believe that BigMik is to come on-line soon as a supplier into Australia. Perhaps he will confirm that here, but that was what I heard. ![]() I am HOPEFUL that I also speak for all of us that supply this unit, that we appreciate ALL of your orders and patience during this mad CV19 time, when airmail is so slow. All orders are being processed as fast as possible, but that lovely virus has slowed the planet's freight to a snail-speed. ![]() But, thanks you guys..... ![]() Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I appreciate all the hard work from the suppliers. Mine is listed as "in transit with airline" so I'm hoping that it's actually in the states now and going through customs or whatever they do before they pass it off to USPS to deliver. |

I would be interested some time to get an idea of the total number of orders from the three of you plus BigMik. I know that would leave out kits and made from self-ordered PCBs, but it would give an idea. From the number of new users, some with considerable and varied experience and skill, I would say that the CMM2 has hit a sweet spot. Thanks Peter and Geoff, and all others involved. Hi All, Yes, I have been offering them for about a month.. as I do these as a hobby I probably am not geared up to pump them out like the other blokes but I still have a couple available, I am going to have to order in new boards tomorrow.. I try not to bombard the forum with self promotions, it’s a fine line between flooding with ads and getting the information known and readily available. My current price in Australia is $175AU for a fully built CMM2 and I throw in 1 off each of my breadboard and prototype PCBs Shipped via EXPRESS POST All info can be found on my site (ok more a repository of files) located Here —. Mik stuff The first 2 directories are shortcuts to the Colour Maximite II and my breadboard and prototype PCBs There is a text file with my current prices and contact details in each of the directories. I love the CMM2, you have all done a fantastic job with its creation. Especially Peter and Geoff. Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Hi Lizby, I am sure that most will not wish to reveal details of their business sales, in fact it is inappropriate to do so, but I am happy to say I have sold 7 fully built an one partial.. As you can see I am not moving them to the extent of others but I am happy that way.. I retired From the industry nearly 2 years ago and I want to spend my life (currently in lockdown) Doing things I enjoy, like designing PCBs and fiddling with electronics.. not sweating over a production line.. Thanks Mick. I wasn't looking for each individual's sales, which I can see could be considered proprietary, but something like "overall, in excess of nnn". Or perhaps Geoff could say how many downloads there come to be of the just-announced CMM2 Ver 5.05.04, which he has recommended that everyone download and flash.
