Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Polite request: please do not report bugs in any version before the release version 5.05.04. If you have an issue with an earlier version please upgrade to 5.05.04 and recheck if the problem still exists. Before reporting an issue with 5.05.04 please check

https://geoffg.net/Downloads/Maximite/CMM2_Current_Bug_List.txt

to see if I am already aware of the problem

Hi Peter,

I found a possible bug (or a feature?).
When I try to insert (F7 in the editor) a file without an (file name) extension, an error message appears.

"test.bas" (works)
"test" (works not)

Regards
Michael

F7 assumes a .bas file if no extension is specified. This is consistent with EDIT but may not always be what you want. No right answer on this one but that is why you see the issue.

Hi Peter,

Quote  F7 assumes a .bas file if no extension is specified.

I can confirm that. But does this mean that it is desired that files cannot be loaded without extension?

... I found a work around: a dot instead of the extension.

"test." (works for files without extension)

Sorry for the alarm!
