Why do I keep getting a 44100hz error when I play a .wav file.

I am using the ----------PLAY EFFECT "sound.wav.  I have a music.mod file that is already playing.......PLAY MODFILE "music.mod"

I opened the .wav file and changed the frequency to 44100hz in Audacity and exported out.  I still get the error message.  So I figured it was the mod file that was maybe causing the problem.  The MOD file is not 44100hz.  Is there anyway to change that or is there any way to stop the 44100hz error when using a MOD file in conjunction with WAV file sound effects ?

Thanks to ALL for any help !

This code is widely used so shouldn't have an issue. Assuming you are playing the modfile without the optional samplerate parameter the modfile codec will generate an output at 44100Hz. In which case I would suspect Audacity. I always use one of the online convertors and have never had a problem.

I use the online converters also.  I created the wav file from combining a couple of wave file sound effects found online.  I combined them in Audacity.  Is there a program where that can be done and be compatible with MMBasic ?

The MOD file I am using was downloaded online and not modified at all.  The volume level of it is extremely low where as the MP3 file used in intro is extremely loud.

Hi if you want to edit wav files and change sample rate i can advise WAVOSAUR a FREE WAVE Editor.

https://www.wavosaur.com/

Its a good editor you can also use VST PLugins if needed and it has basic features like to normalise waves or fade in and out... I like this small editor and it does not install anything it is just an exe file which you can also start from a usb drive...
