Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Can anybody think of a clever way to resume playing an .MP3 file from a position earlier (e.g. 10 seconds) to when play was paused?
I'd like to edit the song's .LRC lyric file (which displays time-stamped subtitles from a separate text file) as the song is playing, i.e. if the lyrics I have are wrong, or the time-stamp is inaccurate, I want to be able to  pause the MP3, do the .LRC file edit and then resume play at an earlier position so that I can check whether the edit is accurate.
I already do this manually but it is a horrendously slow process and I think the CMM2 with IR control should be just the ticket!

Hello Ray.

Thanks for your reply and I had a look at your suggestion. Unfortunately their software is for editing ID3 tags embedded within the MP3 file which can be used to contain the sychronised lyrics.

My media player (dVico 4100) uses a separate .LRC file which contains the synchronised lyrics. The problem would be solved using the CMM2 if there was a way of RESUMEing play at a position a few seconds earlier than where play was PAUSEd. The .LRC file would be edited during the PAUSE and the early RESUME would allow the editing to be checked.

I thought Peter might be able to do this with a extra parameter or somesuch on the RESUME command. Another possibility is to somehow calculate the early RESUME position time by subtracting from the time the MP3 was PAUSEd.
