Hi everyone,

this is my first post, and I just wanted to say hello and share a enclosure I designed for the V1.5 alternative PCB design.

I recently discovered the Color MaxiMite 2 project somewhere (can't remember where). This is an awesome project!

Buying one in Germany or Europe was almost impossible so I ordered the alternative PCB design V1.5 assembled from JLCPCB.

I really love it and I designed a enclosure for it with FreeCAD.

Hallo.

The slanted front is very retro-looking!
Nice work.
Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!

Hi

I am also from Germany and I think it is quite easy to get one. micromite.org actually shipps to Germany. Although you have to contact them and ask, since it is nowhere mentioned on their website.

Hi Fabian,

they have at least 3 Weeks of leadtime and I'm not very patient

Also the price per unit is quite high (108 Euro including shipping) that is more as I paid for five assembled (SMD parts top layer only ) PCB's from the mentioned PCB supplier including express shipping.

I still had to buy and solder the missing parts (RAM, VGA-Connector, USB-Connectors, battery holder + battery, 40-Pin GPIO-Connector etc.) but almost all of those are available from aliexpress.

And I also learned a lot more by assembling and flashing it myself.

Looks great! Very retro style!
Would be cool to manufacture upper part from transaprent material.

Hi,

I'm planning to do that, we have a SLA Form 3 resin 3D printer at work with transparent resin, I'll post some pictures soon.

Thats right, It's not cheap. I got the kit for 60€, but the CPU was not included. So overall I paid about 90€. But at least I did not have to buy all the parts seperately
