Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

happened upon these today:
dsPIC33EP512MC202
dsPIC33EP512MC502
dsPIC33EP512GP502

https://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/dsPIC33EPXXXGP50X-dsPIC33EPXXXMC20X-50X-and-PIC24EPXXXGP-MC20X-Family-Data-Sheet-DS70000657J.pdf

they are 16-bit PIC33 devices in a 28-pin SDIP package (same as the MX170), with 512k of flash but only 48k of RAM. 70MHz max CPU clock.

interesting?

cheers,
rob   :-)

I've come across the 28-pin dsPIC series before, indeed I used one to experiment with a little one-chip oscillosope project that someone had done. They are designed for digital signal processing rather than general control systems. I can't remember which version I got now, it was quite a while ago. I didn't experiment with them as at the time I was using the GCBASIC compiler which doesn't support them and there are still two of them (I think) sitting in a tin in the shed.
