Hi,
I've just purchased a Pi Pico to play with, including a laser distance measuring module that claims mm accuracy up to 4m. Here is some guff on it:

Piico VL53L1X

Have any of you tried one out, in particular with MMBASIC (either on a Pico or any other "Mite")?

Regards,

Andrew

Been on my if-only-I-had-time list for a while. Very interested in how it works out

Merry Christmas to you all,

Well I've given myself a good Christmas present:
- I got the Pi Pico running MMBASIC. Dead easy with Geoff's manual and Peter's code (thanks Geoff and Peter).
- I then fiddled around and eventually got the Pi Pico running Python via Thonny (actually easy once you know how)
- Then I got the VL53L1X running on the Pico using Core Electronics' Python code. (They use pin #8 for SDA and pin #9 for SCL).

At the moment it just prints a series of distances that change as you move your hand etc.

The big question is - can it be ported to MMBASIC?

Regards,

Andrew
