I am restoring an AMSTRAD 286 PC and need a rubber drive belt for the Citizen brand Floppy disk drive. Can anyone supply one or know of a supplier? OA47 |

Rubber "O" rings are available in a huge range of sizes. It may be possible to find one that will fit. |

The drive belt needs to be <1 mm thick and about 3 mm wide total length I would guess 210 mm. I purchased one of those multi kits from the inet but none of them fit. OA47 |

Hi OA47. In the latest edition of Radio Waves is an advert for rubber drive belts, try sales@tvr.com.au or (03) 9850 4144. They are based in Doncaster, Victoria. Gerry |

If no luck there, try wes.com.au They have 0.5mm x 3mm in the length you require, as well as 0.5mm x 4mm. I get all my belts from them. |

I ended up repairing three of these drives for some LeCroy scopes. Here is an excerpt from the LeCroy site about my adventure with Citizen drives: As mentioned before I ended up with two of those Citizen floppy drives with broken belts. I looked around a bit and found a belt set on Amazon (ASIN B07ZFD8184) which contained two 2mm belts that fit the Citizen drives. It was easy to replace the belts as most of the eject mechanism just pops right out. The belts were slightly too tight when first tried. I had to stretch them slightly a couple of times to loosen them up. It also required running the format function six to ten times in a row before the drives broke in enough to reliably format disks. After that both drives formatted, read and recorded just fine. Hope this helps. |
