I have Malwarebytes setup as my primary antivirus with its Web Protection, Malware & PUP Protection, Ransomware Protection and Exploit Protection all turned on. Malwarebytes uses heuristic observation of the behavior of programs to detect malicious stuff. It terminates and quarantines the MMBasic.exe extracted from 2022-04-22_V5.07.03b10 MMBasic Windows beta.zip. It thinks that MMBasic is being naughty. If I go into the Real-Time Protection settings of Malwarebytes and turn Malware & PUP Protection off it then does not halt or quarantine MMBasic.exe, but Windows Security then pops up a warning that both Malwarebytes and Windows Defender malware protection is turned off. Windows Security itself does not detect that Malware & PUP protection is insufficient. Malwarebytes has no way to create an exception for MMBasic.exe. What the heck is MMBasic doing that Malwarebytes does not like. Must I leave Malware & PUP Protection off in order to run MMBasic. Paul in NY |

I simply don't bother with that stuff: From here... Your data goes elsewhere (DropBox in my case). Craig |

After having no issues with MMB4W, Malwarebytes decided to start quarantining it. I did what Mick's article suggests--added it to the "Allow" set. PicoMite, Armmite F4, SensorKits, MMBasic Hardware, Games, etc. on fruitoftheshed |
