Dear Maximite Fans! Hope that You are well! As You might know, chip shortages have made the production of Maximite close to impossible, that is why I could not deliver to You new products, please accept my apologies. If You are still interested in getting Maximite 2, You might be interested in this Facebook post: ![]() https://www.facebook.com/groups/MAXIMITE2/posts/2224014414439087/ This might be last chance to get it from PS Labs. Dear Maximite fans! As You might know, chip shortages have made the production of Maximite close to impossible, that is why I could not deliver to You new products, please accept my apologies. I would also like to share something with You, some time ago I decided to change my life, and together with my lovely wife who helped me to grow my business and my hobby, we decided to move from Poland hoping to find happiness. We are in process of selling what we are not able to take with us, this might be good news for You since I still own a lot of Maximite goodies. Apart from 4 fully functional Maximites (2 are assembled fully assembled, 2 are without enclosure but in the package, You have everything to make final assembly). The market value of the complete set is 3150 USD, this will be sold at auction to the highest bidder. A complete list can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Y0IURY1m5aT9_EuumPgF-bgsCfCocKr7DRIRjBGXaJ0/edit?fbclid=IwAR07nbjJEnP9S12HKNCPMYz0WMoos3c1fGZvHM-N44vOHxPok5Sdp5-5v8Q#gid=0 You can participate in the auction by mailing (biuro@pslabs.pl) me Your price or commenting on this Facebook post. In this auction, You can buy only the complete set. The happy winner will also receive complete production documentation of all devices I made related to the Maximite project! Those who bought in my shop know that I do not save on packaging. Multilayer thick box, items inside in separate boxes or very high-quality bubble wrap, ESDbags. All very tightly packed nothing moves inside. The total weight is 22kg, with dimensions 62x52x42cm. Exemplary shipping cost (let me know if Your country is not there): Poland 7 USD USA 127 USD Germany 21 USD France 38 USD Australia 211 USD Singapore 188 USD Croatia 50 USD ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, it is a right-real pain in the bum, the whole chip shortage thing, but....C'est La Vie..... I also used to sell the CMM2(both the G1 and then the later G2), but cos of the rarity of the chip at the moment, the likelihood of my selling it again is rather remote, which is a shame, as it is a great unit, and so many put so much effort into its development and bringing it to the masses. A real shame. I think I will remove it from my own website at this point, as there is still no firm date on which we can get the chips again. They currently state around one full year still to wait, which is better then the one and a half years they were saying before, but there is no guarantee they won't just push that date back further in another year. You can't plan stock based on that, and you can't accept any backorders for the unit either with those kinds of waiting time. And as we all know, it is not just the ARM processor at the heart of the CMM1 and CMM2 that are effected by the shortages, all the other MM series of chips are seeing massive delays too. On the plus side, you CAN get small quantities of the MX170 series of chips now, but it is sporadic as to which footprint they will have. I have been able to get some DIL and SOIC footprint MX170 chips from Microchip Direct recently, but SSOP continues to be unavailable, and I like to use those ones also! ![]() On the PLUS side though, it IS giving me a great chance to play with and learn all about the PicoMite and it's cousin(the VGA one), as assembled modules for this port are widely available, and very cheap too, so it is a kind of win-win in this nightmare of not-available-and-expensive currently irritating engineers across the entire planet. The RP2040 chip by itself is also very easy and cheap to get, if you want to get REALLY into your on design based on these, but the pre-assembled modules are so cheap, it is a no-brainer really, to use them if you can fit them in. Tra-la-la..... Waffle, waffle, waffle.... Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
