Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Seems more robust than I was aware of.

I often print PDF documents of these articles (attachment).

It's impressive but, of course, it doesn't check the integrity of your data. Like a piece of wire (which it does its best to replace) it's a GIGO system. You still need checksums, CRC or whatever to be sure that what was received is what you sent.

Clever stuff, Bluetooth, though.  :)

Oh sure. I have been shipping product for 10+ years now but only used BT for HMI link to controller. Never experienced any flakiness. Just wasn't aware that it was originally intended for the industrial environment.
It's fun to simply link two SPP devices together to replace a serial cable

A fascinating read.
I also was unaware that it was developed for industrial use, or was one of the deciding factors in its design anyway.
Bluetooth speakers seem to be the most widely used thing these days - that or earplugs so people can link their phone to their earbuds for music etc.
I have a Bluetooth speaker here, and it is fabulous for carrying around with me for listening to podcasts etc.
Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!
