Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

MMBasic is a dialect of the BASIC programming language designed for use on microcontrollers. It was originally developed by Geoff Graham for the MM (MicroMite) family of microcontrollers, and is now available for many other microcontroller platforms as well.

MMBasic provides a set of commands and functions specifically tailored for use on microcontrollers, such as controlling peripheral devices and communicating over various interfaces. It is also known for its simple syntax and ability to work within limited memory space.

MMBasic is often used for the development of embedded systems and prototyping. It is also a good choice for beginners to programming microcontrollers, as it is easy to learn and has extensive documentation and support from the community.

used it to provide content on a design for Microsoft ExpressIP I am working on.

I use it as a sort of advanced search engine, but be warned, it is not entirely accurate - I even had an argument with it, proved it was wrong and it still wouldn't budge

then it got stroppy with me (insert gender joke here)

so I grassed it up to the devs

Never even heard of this thing, but there are all sorts of search-engines out there now, and MMBASIC has been around for more then ten years, so it SHOULD be something most search-engines - and by extension, AI help bots - can search with.  They should have had plenty of 'Search-engine food' on it by now, one would hope!
Still, good to know the word is out there to be found if searched for!

it isn't actually a search engine - you can ask it all sorts of stuff, but I see patterns in it's responses so even now I think it is a suped up version of Eliza with a massive database behind - a really good language processor with some canned responses

but you can get it to do some crazy stuff:

good luck getting that from google

and on a serious note... we are all redundant

not convinced the DIM in a loop is good code.

But anyway... it gives a good place to start - which is what I have used it heavily for because it just saves me hours of browsing google results.

go here: https://chat.openai.com/chat

create an account and play, it is certainly useful but is only up to 2021 (still thinks Bozza is PM of UK)

Hmmm, interesting.

Here is a recent local news report on its use for academic assignments. Is it a tool for good or mischief?
