Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

After about half an hour, Mint auto-logs me off.
I need this to be DISABLED. I need Mint to stay logged in 24/7, as I want to run serial logging software. Mint auto-logging off after about half an hour, is screwing with that.
Can any of the Linux gurus tell me how to TOTALLY DISABLE the auto-logout "Feature"?
Thanks.Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!

hhtg1968's friend beat me to it.
Yup my three Mint mini HP systems are on 24/7 been like that for years even have battery backup. All use the big block wall warts feeding battery backups then 19VDC to systems. My main monitor is 19VDC backed up.
screen saver OK but no locking and power saver/suspend never been used.
While typing here my son called.
He needs garage space and is bring me a truck full of the old compact computers and VGA monitors I used in my Montessori Preschool and Day care. I had two class rooms each setup with eight computers.
I'll have the VGA and PS2 keyboard to play with PicomiteVGA.
They are old dual boot Linux/WinXP so will MMB4W run on WinXP?
more FUN on the way

Looks to be Mint-specific so there should be a Mint way to do it.
Worst case you could try using nohup with the software you want to stay running.

Thanks again, chums - I was able to do all but the gconf-editor instruction. When I tried via ALT+F2, Mint moaned that: "Failed to execute child process. No such file or directory"
I'll leave Mint on for a while, and hopefully it won't prompt me to logon again, and hopefully the gconf-editor step is not critical, cos I can't do it.Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!

I have 4th HP that I removed gconf-editor just so you can see.
I have access to the terminal in my panel so never make use of ALT+F2. I like seeing why a command didn't work. ALT+F2 gives a cute lite blue box. For me I guess it feels to much M$.
