Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I am away from the shed at the moment so I can't refer to previous projects and I did a bit of trawling thru the forum but couldn't find an answer. Is it Ok to run an ILI9341 directly off the VBUS pin of the Pi-Pico if the 3T reg is not bypassed?
If so do I need a current limiting resistor to the backlight LED?

It depends on the version. Older ones have the backlight LEDs going directly to the LED pin so require a resistor. Later ones have a transistor Q1 with a resistor to the LEDs and a 1kΩ base resistor so don't need it, but it won't hurt up to 10kΩ.

I think most people run them from 5V. Just look for Q1.

Thankyou Phil, I put a 33R resistor in just in case.
