Well guy's the SSD on my house computer died so lost everything in my winsucks computer including the download exe Abacom sent me a link for Sprint Layout Now yesterday I did send an email but as yet no reply so one does have to wonder these days paying for a download is a one time affair. Now if this is so I may have to go back to my torrent days and stuff trying to do the right thing if they just want to rip you off. |

As far as I know it's a one-time buy but you'd have to ask them. I had a look on the forum but got nowhere as everything is in German. :( You may have to wait until an English speaker is in the office to translate. I don't think they are a rip-off company. They are more like a one-man operation, so their responses may not always be speedy. I would give them some time. They should be able to look up your order and provide you with a replacement copy since they DO hard code your details into the kit they send you. I have SL6, and have used the same license on every new machine I build, and it always works. It would appear to be a one-time buy. Even their updates are free. Well worth the asking price, but try the demo version first(if you have not already). Can export files for any PCB house such as JLC PCB, but is CURRENTLY limited to four layers. If you need more then four layers, you need to look for another CAD software. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I'm very impressed with SL6. I've just got it to run under Wine on linux. Not tested it thoroughly (or much at all) yet as I've only just managed to find out where its INI file has to live. It is working though, just copied the necessary files over from Windows 10 and run it. My registration details are intact too so its not a reinstall. Performance-wise it's not as good, with a feeling of "grittiness" in the control, but that might be because of KDE Plasma eating up resources. @ Mick - try zooming in and out with the mouse wheel. Under WINE, last time I tried SL6 in Linux, this would crash it totally - probably due to an issue with the graphics acceleration of the native WIN vs emulated in WINE. EDIT: I was using Linux Mint 20 at the time, but had to manually install WINE - it is possible that the latest versions of Mint have WINE pre-installed, which I think would be a good idea.... The latest versions of WINE might have fixed this, but at the time, this was a deal-breaker for me using SL6 under WINE(or Play-On-Linux) under Linux - CAD software absolutely HAS to be stable or you could loose hours(or days!) of work. Completely agree. Reliability is all. I need to do a lot more testing. This is MX linux. Its supposed to be a very efficient distro, especially on low power machines. The PC has built in Intel graphics (I need to check to see if hardware acceleration is enabled). I had to install Wine from the repo. I might try the (recommended) XFCE desktop. I've rather liked that in the past. There is a linux version of EasyEDA Pro so I might see how that runs too. Well finally got my desktop back totally rebuilt and now with 32 gig of ram and a new SSD Just loaded up sprint and just like the other day when I installed sprint on my laptop opening it the first time crashed then starting the program again it just worked properly Checked for updates and got the latest version too.
