Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I'd picked up a Gen 1 CMM2 back in 2020, and then a Gen 2 a year later, but because of the circumstances at the time, they ended up getting shelved.

I've loved MMBASIC since the original Maximites (mono & color), and most recently I've been having a grand time with the PicoMite Version, so I though I'd bring out the CMM2's.

I'd originally intended to get the Hobbytronics Mouse controller for the Gen 2, but as it seems par for me, it appears I waited to long.  I know both generations can use PS2 mice, but are there any current USB alternatives for the Gen 2?

I'd assumed the CMM2's MMBASIC would be somewhere between the original Maximite and PicoMite versions, and it pretty much is as I'd expected, but I was surprised that the SAVE and LOAD commands were removed.  I understand what the CMM2 equivalents are, but I don't entirely understand why they were omitted. It's by no means a big deal, but I'm old school BASIC enough that it bugs me just a tad.

You can use a USB mouse if you use this (replacing the HobbyTronics chip).

I have tested an earlier version of this, and it worked (of coarse you need only wire up the mouse channel). But I found a NOS genuine PS2 mouse at a second hand shop, and use that since.
