Looks like it uses FluidNC. Maslow CNC |

In the video you see only the mill. There is a second (stationary) device, that has angular and linear decoders. ![]() But yes... it is new. Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

I think it works like this: you guide the milling machine by hand and only have to move within certain limits. The rest is compensated for by an X/Y suspension controlled by stepper motors and calculated by the PC using CAD software. This allows you to achieve very precise results on large surfaces without any wobbling. The width within which you have to move is several centimeters and easy to maintain. Translated with DeepL.com (free version) AFAIK, my brother told me about this invention 3 years ago, there is a camera build in and you look at a screen where to move Saw the video too late. This is much further developed :) Edited 2025-09-18 17:57 by dddns |

I think the decoder sits between the "r" and your red circle. The belts go through the machine and are just fastened at their ends. The motor on top drives it.Very low cost and clever. |

I'm on the road with only my phone so haven't checked it out yet. BUT I'm sure I saw mention of servo motors and encoders(?) FluidNC supporting servos and encoders? News to me. I thought I'd be the first to do this, using a PicoMite and taking pulse/direction from FluidNC. |
