Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

This video I thought was pretty clever, and highlights the problem rather well.

YMMV, but....

That is a good sales pitch!   Maybe I should load Linux Mint onto a USB stick?

There is a very useful program called Ventoy available. It partitions a USB stick or drive into two, installing itself onto one partition. You can load the empty half up with iso files for linux distros up to its capacity (typically about 2.4GB per iso). If you then boot with the stick you can select which distro you want to run.It doesn't install them, they are run from the stick just as they are from a live filesystem DVD. You can delete or change the iso files as much as you like - no need to bother with rufus or anything. Exit the distro, remove the stick and reboot and you are back to Windows. Nothing is touched.

Usually when I need Linux for something I plug in a USB DVD Drive and boot a 'Live' DVD.   But I really should have some bootable Linux USB thumb drives.    I'll give Ventoy a try.

That went surprisingly well.  And easy!      I guess I need to figure out how to get the MicroSoft Office Clone Apps onto that thumb drive now.

Oh Geeeeze!   The MicroSoft Office Clone stuff comes pre-installed!   I just need to click on it.   Very nice!

Yes, most distro's these days, come with Libre Office suite pre-installed for you, as you have found out.

Even Office 365 can be run just fine in Linux, because(as mentioned in the video), it runs inside a web browser, so.....

My business email is an Outlook 365 account, and I have it setup as one of the tabs I keep open on Opera browser in Linux, and can check and send any email I like from there.  I'm only on Outlook 365 email, as that is how my website company set it up.  I could move to another email server, but.....meh.
