I'm repeatedly having trouble accesing https://geoffg.net/, I get connection timeouts. Is there an alternative site where I can download PicoMite executables and documentation ? Thanks and regards, Positron (user of the original Microchip PIC MMBASIC versions !) |

Adding the "www" also works here. https://www.geoffg.net/ Tried to upload the .ZIP to here but it is too big. If you know which particular .uf2 files and documents you want I can try to do them individually. |

This would more likely be a local internet issue. The internet as a whole is being a bit clunky lately. Definitely do phil99's suggestion, use the full www. I've been getting this for a while now on my home broad band, which is actually a mobile connection, I think it is the mobile provider blocking it for some random reason. If I use my phone tethered, different mobile network it connects fine. So try connecting using a different route. Regards Kevin |

Still unable to access the site on my broadband connection, but fortunately using my cellphone it worked :)) It also worked using my broadband through a public proxy server (like proxysite.com) What a wonderfull community, thank you all for your help !. Have you tried to run a traceroutre? Years ago I had a similar problem accessing Apple's website from the network of a company I was working for. We found the problem was caused by a bad route inside the network provider network |

I've been watching this thread and testing occasionally. I've had no problems at all. https://geoffg.net/ works for me every time. I only need to enter "geoffg.net" into the browser. Are you getting an error message like 404 or anything, Positron? I'm wondering if it's a local DNS lookup problem with your ISP or possibly a boundary cache server playing up. Works instantly from New Zealand. No error. I agree with Mick. Sounds like it MIGHT be a local DNS issue, in that your local ISP is blocking this website for reasons best known to themselves. Perhaps it was reported by someone or a bot or something, as a security risk or some other such rubbish. ISP's can make false-positives, and Geoff's site might be a victim of that by your ISP. The fact it works for you with a proxy server or on your cellphone, suggests it is something you need to ask your ISP about, as it looks like them specifically, who are blocking that site, and they may not even be aware that they are - bots do stuff like this in the background sometimes, and until someone questions the ISP staff, they don't even know the site is being blocked!   Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
