Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi all, new member here. I just got my Colour Maximite 2 in the mail yesterday, and I've been having lots of fun with it. I have a question about the program size limitation - it says in the manual that the maximum size of a program is 512k as a plain text file. Does the include command allow the user to bypass this limitation, or does the file it includes count towards the same total? Thank you for your time.

512k is a hard limit for the whole program. It represents over 10,000 real world line of code

I see, thanks. Do images and sound files count towards the program size? Also, do you know of any programs that reach this limit?

This limit is just the actual code. AFAIK no-one has got remotely close. A program that calculates solar_eclipse and is 3000 lines long is less that 80K

Fantastic. I guess in that case you could even import a separate plain text file without it counting toward the limit, couldn't you?

Well you have 32MB RAM. I use the CMM2 but don't fully understand the memory thing because I don't require much but I believe that it can accommodate arrays. The manual states "for larger BASIC programs."
