Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Forum Index : Microcontroller and PC projects : Prediction of solar PV output for day(s) ahead.

Hi all,
I've been lurking, but not active, on TBS while the new house was being built.
I've just posted the following topic on TBS' "Solar" section "Prediction of solar PV output for day(s) ahead".
While I hope that solar people will post there I'm wondering it any of you MMBasicers have any experience or ideas on using JSON output from Openweather to predict solar output - via a Webmite?

Cheers,

Andrew

Any prediction further out than 7 days is "unreliable"
The BOM website predicts cloudcover as a percentage for 7 days.
Not long ago I posted code for the calculated maximum output of an array. Coupled with the bom cloudcover would be worth a try although getting the output of your panels for various cloud covers might be difficult. My panels "like" light cloud at some angles for the diffused light it gives.
