I wonder if it would be possible to run the motion planner independent of the stepper engine?
The idea is to be able to use the same G-code interpreter and motion planner to simply provide X-vector, Y-vector, Z-vector, A-vector values that automagically appear/update in BASIC so that they can be processed by PIDs.
Industrial CNCs (Siemens, Fanuc) update their vectors at a selectable rate of 125Hz or 250Hz. The PID takes care of the rest.
