Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

My daughter has a laptop that was upgraded to Win 11 from Win 10. For over a year it has been trying to install the 25H2 update without success, it gets to 62% and fails. I've tried looking up the error number ox8007001f with no luck. It has 238Gb of free space. I even reinstalled Win 11. I did eeverything I could to disable windows update withou success."It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all"

I googled the error number '0x8007001f windows 11' and there was a lot of hits, mainly 'device attached not functioning correctly' which tends to point to a driver error or a corrupted system files or broken user profile.
All had further info on possible solutions.
Good luck

I Googled it as well, I tried everything I could. I would be happy just to turn updates off but I've been unable to do that. I'll try doing it in the registry again and see how I go."It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all"

so is the computer continually re-downloading the update after each fail? if so, and many other machines are doing likewise, i wonder how much impact this sort of issue has on internet traffic worldwide.
