hello again, i'm here again talking about screen modes because i think another screen mode could be possible and useful:
i'm frequently using my colour maximite with a 7" vga screen, i noticed that the MODE 4 fits perfectly that screen dimension, characters displayed in mode 1 to 3 are a bit difficult to read, so the question:
could be possible to have a new mode (mode 5?) like the mode 1(,x) but with the mode 4 resolution? (240x216)
this could speed up the maximite and free some memory, maybe with the help of scanline command some colours could be displayed

It's all down to the way the output is done (DMA / SPI etc) and is driving the chip at about its max abilities. Lots of other settings just won't work. (Don't know about those, someone would have to do quite a bit of figuring to see.)
