I get most 3D models form here http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/default.aspx And occasionally have to use Altium to create a model although it's 3D modelling is very primitive. I have Sketchup and like it, but don't think it can export to STEP. I also occasionally convert IGES to STEP with FreeCAD, I must look to see if FreeCAD can import Sketchup. The new schematics look really nice IMO. I also usually split large chips up, there are pros and cons but overall I think it's easier to find stuff. Rob Gray, AKA the Graynomad, www.robgray.com |
