Hi Pierre, take a look on my Keyboardemulator It works very fine on PS/2 and you can generate ANY keystroke!!! (There is a HT82K628A from HOLTEK available which can only PS/2 which doesn't need an quartz... - it's a very simple circuit!!!) Frank |

I used in the past this Button: ![]() You can open it and you can put any (laser) printed paper (with transparent foil above) instead of the original plate in it. Frank |

The CG keyboard chip is for use with the MaxiMite series of computers - it will not function as a keyboard if you connect it to a PC or other full-size computer. CG has tested that, and a PC will not respond to this chip as a keyboard, as it is not a true keyboard controller, but an emulator. This works fine on the MM, but just don't expect to be able to plug this into a PC... @ Frank-N-Furter - I have the 628A's, that don't need the crystal, and these are the ones I could not make work. ![]() Smoke makes things work. Hi Grogster, I have no experience with the HT82K628A, I used only the HT82K629A (and this one works very fine). Did you used the correct value for the oscillator resistor (58,3KOhm - I think the timing of the oscillator is very important) and did you used a FERRIT on VDD? I would try to connect the resistor on the µC-side of the FERRIT OR on the power side... I hadn't any problems with the HT82K629A on USB AND PS/2... Frank |

Hi there. ![]() I might have another play with these chips, as I have nine more.... ![]() Yes, I did use a ferrite bead on VCC as per the datasheet. EDIT: Just had a quick look at my old attempt - I used a 56k and 2k2 metal-film 1% resitor in series, giving a total of 58k2, which I thought would have been close enough - perhaps not? I will see if I can find the old prototype PCB, and I could always hack an extra 100-ohm 1% resistor in there, and see if we get a response. Smoke makes things work.
