Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

how many hardware counters in the
MaxiMite chip ?

Maximite has 4 but I use 2 of them for I2C
We still have the problem with counters overflowing the floating point counter.

I haven't investigated too far yet.

Both the Maxi and Mini chips are listed as having 5 16 bit timers.
Does that mean 5 possible completely independent (16 bit) pwm channels ?

Manual says 5 PWM or SERVO channels, so I would say yes.

From the uM manual, page 44 under PWM:

  Quote
Generate a pulse width modulated (PWM) output for driving analogue
circuits, sound output, etc. There are a total of five outputs designated as PWM in the diagrams on pages 6 and 7(they are also used for the SERVO command). Controller 1
can have one, two or three outputs while controller 2 can have one or two outputs. Both controllers are independent and can be turned on and off and have different frequencies.

Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!

But it says "both" implying 2 .....
AND !
I mean the chip itself ... I know MMBasic's not setup for that.
I guess 5 'controllers' is what I'm dreaming of :)
