Yet another small update. I 'might' have fixed the "non-continuable protection violation has occurred" messages that some users had reported. To early to be sure but I live in hope... I have made it easier to close the Chat window when MMEdit gets overloaded with data arriving too fast. TeraTerm it still the best Terminal program to use for rapid response. I have added a few missing keywords form the syntax files. If you install MMEdit as one user and try to run it as a different user, MMEdit now gives you the opportunity to create the required data files for that user. Previously MMEdit simply sulked and refused to go any further. The two (or more) sets of data files will remain separate and should work OK but there will be problems when it comes to updating the data files. On my website, you now have the option to download a portable copy of MMEdit. Simply download and extract the file to a location of your choice, including removable drives. You can still create portable installations from within MMEdit. The ZIP file with the TKN file (missing the updated syntax files) http://www.c-com.com.au/stuff/MMedit.zip WEbsite with the full MMEDit and the portable version http://www.c-com.com.au/MMedit.htm As always, I would like to hear about any problems or suggestions for improvement. ![]() ![]() Sometimes I'll get these messages when I have Chat open. I think it has to do with the scrolling chat window filling up. When I click "OK" the chat window closes but otherwise everything is OK. No new messages in error.log. Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

The first message usually indicates that the USB port has been unplugged but I think it could also happen under heavy load or a long session. Does it happen when you are in VT100 mode or ASCII? In VT100 mode, MMedit is very slow and can easily fail to keep up with any fast data arriving. If left running for too long, under some circumstances, it can also suffer a memory leak. It shouldn't happen when in ASCII mode. OK. It shouldn't happen at all but the fix will have to wait until I change programming languages. I prefer TeraTerm for long term terminal use. Happens in ASCII. It isn't a show stopper at all. It only happens rarely. Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |
