I am new to the Micromite and to the community, but I like what I see so far. I have been playing with the Micromite MKII, and am enjoying it very much.

I am going to start a project where I use the Micromite MKII to drive LEDs, meters, OLED display, and various other components. I am finding it hard to find a development board that will fit my application. Does anyone have any recommendations on what pre-made development board may work with Micromite MKII?

The problem with the PIC32MX150/170/250/270/470 etc is that pins are configured in software.
Boards that are made with pins dedicated to a specific function that do not match that configuration will not work. Like the board from MikroE, it is wired to specific pins and they do not match.
If you want to get running quickly you best buy one of the boards some of the members of this forum made.
Those are specifically made for the pinout that is used fromMMBasic.

I did not realize that about PIC32, and how they are not compatible with some of these boards. Thank you for the suggestions. I will look into which best fits my application.

Often they ARE compatible but may need a bit of init code - read about PPS - some have it, some don't.

I may as well join in too!

I am going to start by adding Lou & Zonker's LCDuMite to the list of possible choices since this also has space onboard for some peripherals such as LCD, temp sensor, IR Tx & Rx, RTC, DAC, etc. These guys are members on this forum and are based in the US; since this is where you are you could shoot them a Private Message to see if they can help you locally.

Also you can see some photo's of some of the other boards mentioned here on my website MicroMite.org . Most of these are boards designed by TBS members (as well as my 44-pin MkII MicroMite Module

). I personally like BigMick's MuP as a great starting point for connecting just a handful of things - and his NanoMite if just needing no more than 6 I/O pins.

Circuit Gizmos 'Arduino'Mite looks very interesting but I haven't personally 'played' with one of these yet. (CG - have you fixed a price/date?)

I hope some of these meet with your interest. If not then Grogster may be happy to design you a bespoke 'Explorer' PCB

Would something like this work?

I thought I would put a plug in for the Plug Board uMites.
There are 6 uMiteIIs here.
The bunch on the right and the 2 LCD displays run as Slave IEEE485. Mostly as software experiments. And 3 RTCs.
All the LED indicators are the LUMEX SSL-LX3044 12V LEDs with built in ballast resistors. They are very handy on plug boards. A tad spendy at $25us/100. They come in 3 colors. I prefer the 12V types as they draw less current than the 5V versions and are just the right brightness all the way down to below 3V. Cool huh!!!

Sorry about the crappy picture, I didn't have a good camera handy.
And here is how I added a nice surface mount 10uF ceramic cap to the 1.8 volt pins.

I'm done testing the prototypes and I have some that are unbuilt that I can build up and part with. I can't compete price-wise with the Arduino that is built by the 100,000s, and I'm gonna lose anyway on the prototypes. But I don't need the extras that I have and I may as well sell them for $30 to recoup a little of the cost.

The production models will be a little different, and hopefully at a price I can make $ on.
