Received this offer from Microchip Direct http://www.microchipdirect.com/

Quote  Use coupon code "FreeShipmD" to obtain free shipping on orders placed through March 31, 2015

Microchip Direct chip pricing is usually pretty competitive, but their P&P for small quantities is usually quite expensive.

So this might be a good chance to stock up on some '170/'470 chips perhaps.

Peter

PS I am in no way connected with Microchip !

Where do Microchip Direct ship from ?

If from outside the UK, the order would likley attract the UK Post Office ransom fee and VAT, paying the VAT is OK, but the PO ransom fee is £8 or £13.50.

The prices are good, around 65% of Farnells, but the savings could be wiped out.

$50SAT is Silent but probably still working.

The PIC32MX470F512H-V/PT is in stock.
The PIC32MX470F512H-I/PT is not.

Are these interchangeable as they are both TQFP packages?
Whats the difference?

regards

I've just had an order arrive from microchip to UK Sheffield (they ship from Thailand I think) and there was no extra charge, I just paid for the parts.

I've bought stuff twice from Microchip Direct, and NO extra customs duties, Royal Mail charges etc, just UK VAT, and the order was well over GBP 30 so it didn't qualify for small consignment relief. Microchip Direct must ship out of the EU/EFTA somehow and/or have done a deal with the EU.
