Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I don't normally link to or post things like this on this forum, but I could not help myself with this one. A cutting from today's paper that had me laughing my backside off.

I would say: "Only in America", but I know that many of us have had similar feelings with many items of un-co-operative technology, and had we access to said firearm, then perhaps......

I read about it on ars technica earlier today. I had a bit of a chuckle about it. I no longer have a gun but I do own a sledge hammer and an axe.

Well one could always get an old coke can sized electrolyte cap, stick it in the computer then feed reverse voltage to it via a car battery (from a distance) Edited by Bryan1 2015-04-24

Sounds like he may go to jail for discharge of a firearm in city limits.

Discharge of a firearm, yes, but he was not shooting at any Human being, so you would think that needed to be taken into account.

Perhaps that already has - gun laws are weird!

EDIT: Perhaps I should clarify that remark above - I don't like guns or approve of people stockpiling them. However, that is only MHO, and any Americans reading this should know at this point, that I am not having a go at your 2nd Amendment or anything - your country is your country, and it is nothing to do with me.

However, as we have had our own gun-related issues such as the Aramoana Massacre which was literally just the other side of the city from me, I don't really think there is a place for assault rifles past military or police use.

Again - just my 2c - not getting on USA's case or anything - that is another country, and I have no right to comment on their laws.Edited by Grogster 2015-04-25

Yeah probably don't want this thread to become a gun debate thread. I am a firearms trainer, but respect your opinion.

BTW he used a handgun, not a rifle. (Edit: I realize, upon rereading, that your reference to rifle was not to the posted newspaper image.)
