Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Last year I started to write a simplistic Boulder Dash clone to the Colour Maximite, but my job has consumed all my time and I see that probably I will not gonna finish the game. In any case, I believe that is a good proof of concept to see the capacity of MMBasic with the Colour Maximite.

Here is a video (with bad quality, sorry).

Here is a link to download the game file (with source).
(Close your eyes, the source code it's not optimized and it's not a port from the original Boulder Dash source code, it's only based on a free concept of observation)

Some images:

PS.: Sorry about my english.

I used to be mildly addicted to this game back in the day.

This is fantastic and the speed at which it run is unbelievable!
It's such a shame you won't be able to finish it.
Great job and very well done.
And thanks for sharing your code.

Dave.

This is super fun!
It immedeately reminded me of Supaplex. I played Supaplex long ago and didn't know a thing about Boulder Dash. It's just now I found out that Supaplex is a clone of Boulder Dash. :)

I'm very glad that you liked it!

I'm developing other optimized version that have support to three sound types:

- SN76489
- PWM
- Amiga modules

I'm adapting this source code to support the map editor from CdN Media Studio, and soon I'will release the new version.

Unfortunately it does not work at all for me.

Trying to run the MAXDASH.bas (CMM - MMBASIC 4.5/V.4.05.03) I always get:
"An internal error was trapped and your program has been lost (sorry)"

But the video looks great in content!

You must delete all files from the A: (flash drive).

If don't work yet, tell me that I host again with the newer sources, because I don't remember if I changed something that can broke the compatibility (this demo was developed in 4.4 firmware).
