This is a small bug fix only. There were errors with Variable reports and formatting files with csub and/or definefont The attached ZIP has the TKN file which replaces the file of the same name in the program folder. I have not produced a full installation file yet. After 7 weeks of living without a decent computer my insurance claim has finally been processed and I have ordered something a bit better than what I am using now. When it arrives, hopefully before Easter, I will be able to do the syntax file for MMBasic V5.1 and update the installer. At least being forced to use the slow PC, I have been reminded which areas of MMEdit are too slow and need attention. 2016-03-18_012752_MMedit.zip Jim VK7JH MMedit |

i have always maintained that there is virtue in doing development on a low-end computer, it allows the developer to appreciate the problems faced by 'the average uers'. too often, companies will give their developers the fastest computer money can buy, with the fattest internet connection possible. as a result, when software products are released into the real world, often the user experience can be, well... lacklustre. personally, all i use is a 1.6GHz atom-based netbook, running XP. the theory being that if it runs on my netbook, it should run on anything else a whole lot better! cheers, rob :-) |

Nowadays i write software on the fastest computer i have, as editing is much smoother and i can have lots of supporting documents/programs open at the same time. Then compile it and put it on the slowest computer i have (an asus eee laptop, with windows xp) and also on a few VM's with different settings for memory/cpu. Has to work good on the slowest, it flies on the newest. Often i have also a html/css/javascript part that had to be tested on lots of different browsers. That part i said goodbye to as it consumed way too much time and actually hampered development. html/css/javascript work for the newest browsers only as even on the oldest xp a recent browser can be installed. Microblocks. Build with logic. |
