Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I've got 3 different MM's on the go at the moment.
All still on breadboards.
2 are Geoff's backpacks, 1 just a chip & 20x4 LCD
1 connected by Bluetooth, the other 2 TCP/IP.

I think I'm seeing a very high incidence of upload failures to the 1 on the Beta 2.
Guessing close to 50% failure at times.
Always successful on a 2nd attempt.

Could be totally related to my environment & breadboards, although the one I experience it on is the cleanest of the 3 "Birds Nests".

Is it the one on Bluetooth or one of the TCPIP ones that is having problems?
If TCPIP, what are you using for the serial to TCPIP at the Micromite end?

Rather than using 'load and run', can you try 'load' from the Chat window. That uses a different method of sending the file.

It's one of the ones on TCP/IP.
ESP8266 with ESP-Link. 115200, but so is the other on IP.

It's the best constructed of them all & otherwise totally stable.
But it is the one running 5.2B2.

The other one that has WAY less occurrences of this, has 5.1, and it is a total birds nest.

Ping monitoring to it shows only 1 dropped packet in the last 4 hours for both.

Playing a lot with my code last night & this morning so have done dozens & dozens of uploads to both.

Can you please confirm these are MAXIMITES and NOT MicroMites.

I assume you are not trying to program a MicroMite with Maximite-type programmers...

Looks like you are using MMEDIT for this.
Is MMEDIT in the correct mode for the thing you are trying to talk to?
Does TeraTerm and XMODEM work to transfer files?

MMEDIT uses the same thing(XMODEM) in the background so I understand, but just for the purposes of testing......

Can you easily swap the two ESP modules as test.

Under 'Advanced', try setting the device to micromite instead of autodetect.

I think you might get better results if you use LOAD in Chat instead of 'load and run'

Press "NEW"
Wait for the prompt ** very important to wait for the prompt.
Press "Load"

This uses 'autosave' to load your program instead of xmodem but your problem is with the initial communications with the micromite, not xmodem.

I haven't had time to test Beta2 yet. Hopefully sometime today.
