YAWD = Yet Another weather Display My new weather display this time using an Explorer 64 PCB and Matherp's new ILI9341 enhanced driver. The weather information is from the forecast.io webservice they allow a huge 1000 requests per day. The data arrives as a rather larger Json file. Taking a lead from Addafruit (and their PHP scrips) i am using a webserver to download and parse the Json file doing it this way makes sorting and display the data really easy (you can use any web server that supports PHP most do). The internal data is from a modified Sonoff device that controls my Aircon (topic for another post) this uploads the data to the thingspeak website and the thing.php script downloads the Json file. As my PHP skills are non existant the PHP is not the best but it does the job quite well. Matherp's new ILI9341 driver works a treat and is the main reason for this update. Now we have a bmp background with the text overlayed. Included in the attached zip is the Basic,PHP,Icons and background I changed the SD Card holder on the back of the LCD to allow me to plug a SD card in that did not stick out the side as this did not allow mounting in the wall plate. ![]() ![]() Internals ![]() A video of the device in use WeatherDisplay Video A few pics of the unit working ![]() ![]() ![]() 2016-07-16_021648_WeatherDisplay.zip Regards Jman |

Hi Luckly for those of us who reside in New Zealand and Australia the mains wiring to all light switchs includes both the Live and Netural so i used a USB outlet desgined to be clipped into a switch panel and left it in the wall. They look like this Attached is the spec sheet for the module Regards Jman 2016-07-19_002419_88USBM_installation_sheet_Logix.pdf |
